Mary, thank you for comment and your questions. The Secretary of State actually functions as the CEO of Democracy because of their role in election oversight. It is a critical position, in both the oversight of elections and the regulation of businesses. The connection to Evan Bayh is because of his deep connections to Apollo Global Management and other Washington insiders who are huge supporters of the GOP and Donald Trump. Why does Beau accept money from his father's friends who are supporters of the GOP. Why doesn't he just stand on his own and give the money back, he has a large war chest already. And the family name is not a guarantee of electability. Evan lost his 2016 election for the Senate by 10 points .My point is that electability is more than just fundraising and family legacy, it is about who the candidate is and what they stand for. Voters are hungry for a new kind of candidate and the party doesn't always know best. H4D is a team of concerned citizens and activists who work to inform our readers about the rising tide of authoritarianism in our state and invite them to engage in building a people powered movement that will help end the super majority GOP stranglehold . Our website is https://hoosiers4democracy.org. Check out the resource tab, we have some good resources for you. Thank you for reading H4D and for your questions!

Excellent information regarding candidates! I appreciate the background and funding of the candidates! It is exciting to see the resurgence of the democrats 😀

Indeed it is and you are such a faithful reader! I think the recent elections across the country have dispelled the tired electability myths of 'who has the most money' and 'name recognition' and gives us hope for excellent candidates like Blythe Potter and my beloved Senator, Fady Qaddoura. He had little money, no name recognition and the party told him was the wrong candidate for his district. They were wrong. Authenticity, integrity and sheer grit to get the job done is a winning recipe in this new moment. We need a new Democratic party in our state and at the DNC level--we are getting there!

Thank you for reading H4D!

Even though I'm in the southwestern part of the state, I give regularly to Fady. I look forward to his news. I can trust it. My two reps are magas and disgusting 🫣 I'm glad to learn of Blythe. I hadn't heard of her. I do know Bayh due to his father. I'd still vote for him if it's against Morales but now hopefully we'll have a choice.

Great piece. I’m a delegate. It is tough sifting through a lot of the propaganda being pushed out by Indiana’s Democratic Party as they are definitely pushing Bayh as the guy. The money Bayh took from MindTrust should cause every delegate concern.

Hi Sharon, so good to hear from you. The whole of being a delegate has been been confusing. In theory, delegates represent their district. In practice, that's a joke. As I campaigned to be a delegate, the 700 people I engaged with had NO idea what a delegate was, what a precinct chair was or what happened at Convention. The delegates should not be asked to 'rubber stamp' a candidate by the party, who is completely tone deaf to voters almost by design not default. The electability myth is is a rote response by the body politic who is normalizing big money winning elections. Delegates need to dig into the two candidates who will become the next CEO of our Democracy. Funding sources come with strings attached, no matter how Beau tries to minimize that. Marc Rowan (Apollo Global CEO) is not a nice guy and has his fingers in MAGA politics. Leon Black (former CEO) is deeply connected to Epstein and resigned because of it. Evan Bayh has been rubbing shoulders with these two guys for 15 years. That counts for something.

As delegates, we have a responsibility to connect with one another and share information, and dig into the research about both candidates. Our vote should be a vote for who we think is the best candidate for the moment. 2026 is not going to be like any other election year.

You are amazing! Thanks for all you are doing in Hamilton County! We can do this hard thing my friend!

After reading this, I'm all in for Blythe Potter!!! Let me know what volunteer opportunities there are to campaign for or support her campaign.

For now, before the convention just share this information with your friends and neighbors. A letter to the editor would be wonderful as the media has basically ignored her as a candidate. If you know delegates going to the convention , reach out to them as a friend NOT part of the campaign-challenging the status quo is tricky! Thank you so much for reading H4D!

Thank you for this information. It has long been my theory that Evan Bayh really wanted to be a Republican, but was locked into affiliation with the Democratic Party by his father's political career. Evan Bayh is certainly no Birch Bayh.

I am old enough to remember his tenure as Governor, it was lack luster and I remember complaining then that he felt like 'Republican light' to me as a governor and as a Senator. Birch Bayh was the real deal. If we want to elect another candidate who embodies the legacy of Birch Bayh, elect Blythe Potter!

Have heard great things about you! Lori Ecker is a friend and colleague of H4D! We will grow a people’s party out of the ashes of this calcified party yet! Thanks for reading H4D!

I am trying to find out more... Who specifically is "Hoosiers for Democracy" And Who is "Indiana's CEO for Democracy" Trying to find websites and cannot locate. NEXT, Comparing anyone to a family member is unfair. It is like comparing Bobby Kennedy to RFKjr. Sins of the father do not sit well with me. Comparing qualifications and their personal vision for the job is all that matters in this race.
